Warren Wolf

Warren Roy Wolf passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026, at his home in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Born June 7, 1942, in Shawano, he was the son of Ruben and Dorothea (Runge) Wolf.

Warren had many fond memories of his youth in Shawano — working on his uncle’s farm, Sunday drives after church, gatherings with his large extended family, time spent at beautiful Shawano Lake, and there he developed his lifelong love of the Green Bay Packers. Go Pack Go!

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 1964, Warren attended the Navy officer candidate school in Newport, Rhode Island, followed by flight school in Pensacola, Florida. During the Vietnam War, he served first as a flight navigator on C-130s and then as flight deck officer on the USS Dubuque.

In October of last year, Warren, along with his father-in-law, Benny Williams, was recognized for his service on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. It was one of the highlights of his life.

Following his service, Warren worked for Bank of America in the expanding field of computers. He spent his first 10 years in London working with a small group of international bank employees. They first converted all European branches from “quill and pen” to computers and then moved on to Asian branches.

While still in England, Warren met his wife, Sheila, who also worked for Bank of America in San Francisco. They married March 15, 1975, in Carmel, California, and made their home in England where both children were born. After his time in England, Warren and family returned to California, and he retired from the bank after 25 years.

Warren and Sheila built a house in Savannah Lakes Village, McCormick, South Carolina. There he “played at” golf, fished, enjoyed a special group of friends, did Road Warriors, worked on Rails to Trails, traveled, welcomed grandchildren and was blessed with a full and happy life.

Warren was the beloved husband of Sheila (Williams) Wolf; father of Jessica (Greg) Ryan and Justin (Kelly) Wolf; grandfather of Carson, Cassidy, Kendall and Stella. He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Hoye and Pamela Pludeman; as well as a large group of in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Warren was a unique and special man. He was the best possible husband and father. He will be in our hearts and memories forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local Honor Flight.
