3 baseball teams knocked out as regional action begins

May 29 Bonduel 11, Menominee Nation 1 Bonduel, seeded No. 5, defeated No. 12 seed Menominee Nation 11-1 in the opening round of WIAA baseball regional action. The Eagles end the season at 3-17 overall.

May 29 Bonduel 2, Oconto 0 Bonduel won the regional title in a pitchers dual between a pair of freshmen with a 2-0 win over Oconto. May 27 Bonduel 7, Iola-Scandinavia 1 Bonduel won the completion of a suspended game against Iola-Scandinavia 7-1. Cade Johnson threw a complete game victory scattering four hits and allowing one run while walking two and striking out 11. The Bears scored in all but one inning and were led at the plate by Joe Felhofer with two hits and two RBIs.
Bears, Chargers advance to regional title games
May 28 Bonduel 10, Shiocton 0 Bonduel defeated Shiocton 10-0 in six innings to advance in WIAA regional action. Bonduel scored two runs in the first inning and one more in the third to take a 3-0 lead. A four-run fifth inning and three runs in sixth inning broke the game open. Tatum Sporisky was 4-for-4, scored four runs and drove in another. Jayla Reinke was 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs.
Pulaski girls win D1 track and field regionals
May 27 Division 1, Green Bay Preble Pulaski’s track teams will be represented in more than two dozen events at sectionals, following their strong performance at regionals. The girls, with 157 points, won among the eight teams.

Division 2, Waupaca Shawano and Oconto Falls’ girls teams tied for first place with 122 points each, followed by Wittenberg-Birnamwood in fourth with 89 and Menominee Nation in eighth with 19. For the boys, Shawano was second with 104 points, followed by Oconto Falls in third with 99.5, Wittenberg-Birnamwood in firth with 82 and Menominee Nation in eighth with 33.5.
