Menominee Nation/Gresham scored 345 and placed fifth at the Division 2 team sectionals at Crystal Springs Golf Course.

Oconto Falls golfers scored 349 and placed seventh.

Scoring for the Eagles were Allex Mahl with 82, Elliott Penass with 84, Gabe Boivin with 89 and Anikohsaeh Corn with 90.

U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany addressed members of the Shawano County Republican Party on May 30 at the Golden Sands Golf Course in Cecil. His visit, and those of many others seeking office in the November election, was part of the Lincoln Reagan Day Dinner. Tiffany is the only Republican who is running for governor. Currently, there are eight Democrats and six independents running as well.

• Darryl D. Bork, 64, Tigerton, pleaded no contest Nov. 17 to strangulation or suffocation; battery or threat to a judge, prosecutor or public safety worker; throwing or discharging bodily fluid at a public safety officer or prosecutor; and felony bail jumping. Judge Katherine Sloma sentenced him May 28 to four years in prison followed by three years and six months of extended supervision with conditions.

• Lee Terrence Smith, 51, Oneida, pleaded no contest Feb. 19 to second-degree recklessly endangering safety and a misdemeanor charge of hit and run. Judge Jay Conley imposed and stayed a prison sentence, then place him on three years of probation with conditions.

Deputies responded to 37 incidents, including a noise disturbance on Opperman Way in the Town of Richmond; theft on Oak Avenue in the Town of Richmond; five reckless driving incidents; three traffic hazards; two crashes, one involving deer.
