“Wisconsin Foodie” host and James Beard Award nominee Luke Zahm will be at the Shawano County Library’s main branch to talk about all things local food and his experiences as the host of the popular PBS show.
He will be at the library, 128 S. Sawyer St., Shawano, at 6 p.m. Sept. 23.
Zahm is the co-owner of the Driftless Cafe in Viroqua, which is known for elevating produce of the Driftless Area. Originally from La Farge, Zahm has been awarded Edible Madison’s “Local Hero” twice and was nominated for a James Beard award in 2017. He has been the host of Emmy Award winning “Wisconsin Foodie” since 2020.
The evening with Zahm will offer insights into the local food movement.
Zahm is passionate about quality organic food and will talk to attendees about simple ways to prepare what’s in season. He will also regale the audience with stories of his travels around the state as host of “Wisconsin Foodie.”
The Shawano County Library hosts free programs for all ages.
“The library is not just books anymore,” said Claire O’Brien, coordinator of Zahm’s event. “We try to have all kinds of programs to benefit our community. September is National Library Card Sign Up month. It’s just a great time for Luke to be here and celebrate with us.”
