Don’t let billionaires win; vote for Crawford

To the editor, Our state’s future will be determined when we elect a new justice for the Wisconsin Supreme Court on April 1. Judge Susan Crawford has an outstanding record; however, she has been the victim of multiple lies by her opponent, Brad Schimel, and his benefactor, Elon Musk. Ads have accused her of being easy on crime despite her record of putting violent criminals behind bars.
Former judge urges voting for Schimel
To the editor: I support Circuit Court Judge Brad Schimel in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race. When I served locally in the circuit court, Attorney General Schimel provided assistance to our district attorney office on more than one case that was complex. I believe that Judge Schimel interprets the law, believing that the legislature decided public policy issues.
Town of Little Suamico needs new leadership
To the editor, With the upcoming elections in the Town of Little Suamico, we clearly need new direction. After voting in a new board two years ago, election of Chairman Dale Mohr clearly was a mistake. He does not understand his new role as he is wearing too many hats.
Center good reason to vote no on referendum
To the editor: DOSE, the Department of School Efficiency. The Suring Public School District is asking voters to approve a $1.5 million referendum on April 1 — a 55% increase from the previous $900,000. Meanwhile, the school board chose to build a $370,000 experimental community center, known as SMAC, without a separate building referendum.
Vote no on Voter ID law measure
To the editor, On April 1, we are being asked, by the partisan Wisconsin legislature, to vote to embed our Voter ID law into our constitution. If we do so, only the legislature will be allowed to decide what is a valid ID. This is the sixth attempt in the past year to restrict voting access. Wisconsin already has a successful Voter ID law. Investigations have shown a lack of fraud in our elections.
Shawano giving helped Operation Christmas Child
To the editor: The overwhelming generosity of the people of Shawano helped provide joy to children in need through Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts this season. Across the U.S., the Samaritan’s Purse project collected 10.5 million shoebox gifts in 2024.
Investigate, question sources of information
To the editor: We thought that you could verify facts with two sources of information that said the same thing. Hearing something on the Walter Cronkite CBS Evening News and then reading it in the local newspaper was proof this was the truth. Today, it is far more difficult to distinguish the truth from lies. No matter how savvy we think we are, we can be tricked.
