Raffle to raise funds for town of Hall playground

Raffle prizes worth more than $4,000, including a top prize of $500 in cash, have been donated by area businesses to raise funds for a playground at the town of How ball field at the top of Suring hill. The Business Association of Suring Area is sponsoring the raffle for the Suring Area Playground Committee, formed to raise funds and coordinate the purchase of playground equipment for the ball field. The recreational area is frequented by families for ball games, community events and outings. The committee’s goal is to provide a safe, family friendly play area. Seventy-five percent of the raffle profits will go to the Suring Area Playground Committee and 25 percent to BASA. Raffle tickets cost $2 each or six for $10. They may be purchased at Wichman’s BP, C-US-4 Wireless Cellcom agent in Suring and Shawano, FirstMerit Bank, Suring Auto and Hardware, The Boarding House Supper Club, Suring Barber Shop and Suring Dollar Value. The drawing will be held Feb. 14 at the How Town Hall. The time of the drawing has not been set. There will be a 30-day deadline to pick up prizes. The top 25 prizes are $500 cash, a hog butchered and processed from Sweet Grass Farm, iPad Mini from Gruetzmacher Funeral Home, 14-carat yellow/gold necklace and three-stone diamond pendant from Martin Jewellers, John Deere pedal tractor from Mahoney Farms and Custom, Kindle Fire HDX from C-Us-4 Wireless, Cellcom agent, $150 cash from Visions of N.E.W.
