Panthers girls remain undefeated
Undefeated Oconto Falls High School outscored Manitowoc Lincoln in every quarter en route to a 48-33 girls basketball win Saturday in Manitowoc.
McKenna Larsen led the Panthers (5-0, 2-0 Bay Conference) with 17 points. Carly Lemke added 13.
Alyssa Fischer led Manitowoc (3-5, 2-2 Fox River Classic) with 15 points.

Gillett splits games at Elcho tourney
Elcho’s boys basketball team took a three-point first quarter lead and then padded it each following quarter en route to a 42-32 win over Gillett on Saturday in the Elcho Tournament championship.
Jake Kasten was the only player in double figures for Gillett (3-6, 2-3 Marinette & Oconto Conference) with 13 points. Junior forward Dan Torres led the Tigers in rebounds with eight.
Jaeger Adams tallied 23 for Elcho (5-4, 3-2 Northern Lakes Conference).
On Friday, Gillett defeated Palmyra-Eagle (3-6, 1-4 Rock Valley-South) 56-45 behind senior guard Dylan Roberts’ 21 points, including 15 of 20 free throws. Torres recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Lena no match for tournament foes
Lena High School never really challenged Fond du Lac Home School Association in dropping at 55-28 decision Saturday at the boys basketball tournament in Lena.
Fond du Lac (1-0) outscored Lena 18-4, 12-5 and 21-13 in the first three quarters; Lena held a 6-4 edge in the final period.
Nash Haney had 10 points for Lena (0-4, 1-7 Marinette & Oconto Conference).
In the opening round of the tourney Friday, Lena fell to Goodman/Pembine (8-1, 5-0 Northern Lakes) 60-36. Matt Marquardt led Lena with 12 points.
Four Goodman/Pembine players reached double figures, paced by Alex Whitt with 19. Goodman/Pembine defeated Valley Christian in the title game and won the tourney for the second straight year.

Pulaski wrestlers win tourney title
Pulaski won the Mid States Tournament featuring high school wrestling teams from throughout the state and a couple from Illinois.
The tourney was held Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Pulaski racked up 167.5 points. Sun Prairie was second with 152.
Anthony Rottier won Pulaski’s only individual crown with a 4-1 decision over Austin Armstrong, of Sycamore, in the 170-pound title match. Kasey Caelwaerts finished second at 160, losing a 6-4 decision to Jordan Gundrum, of West Bend East, in the title match.
Brett Handzel (132) and Sequoya Rasmussen (145) each placed fourth for Pulaski.
