At 4:44 p.m. Dec. 20, an Oconto Falls man was traveling north on a John Deere skid steer on County Road C in the town of Morgan. At the same time he observed an Oconto County Highway Department truck plowing snow approaching from behind, also driven by an Oconto Falls man. The driver of the farm equipment turned left into a driveway, and the truck driver was unable to avoid a collision. There were no injuries.
At 2:08 p.m. Dec. 20, an Oconto man was driving his car south on U.S. 41 at Galuska Road, town of Abrams. His vehicle skidded on the snow-covered roadway and struck a road sign, then came to rest on Galuska Road. There was moderate damage reported to his automobile.
At 4:04 a.m. Dec. 22, a man from Lena was driving his pickup truck south on Tower Dam Road in the town of Stiles, lost control and entered a ditch, striking a tree. The pickup truck sustained severe damage, but the driver was not injured.
At 4:30 a.m. Dec. 22, a man from Mountain was driving north on state Highway 32-64 in the town of Mountain when he apparently fell asleep. His vehicle entered a ditch on the east side of the roadway and struck a road sign and several trees. Very severe damage was reported to the car. The driver sought his own treatment for injuries.
At 5:25 p.m. Dec. 23, a man from Suring was driving his car east on County Road R at Kelly Road in the town of Underhill and stopped at the intersection. He stated he didn’t see a car approaching from the north and drove in front of the car driven by a woman from Suring. No injuries resulted, but both vehicles sustained severe damage.
At 11:55 a.m. Dec. 24, a woman from Suamico struck a snowmobile driven by a Little Suamico man on Grosse Road in the town of Little Suamico. No injuries were reported.
A snow thrower was stolen from a shed on County Road B in the town of Oconto Falls. It was owned by True Value Hardware Store, Oconto Falls, and stored at the shed and used for removing snow from the yard near the shed. No value of the item was listed.
