Noreen Peters Johnson

Noreen “Skinny Mama” Peters Johnson, 49, of Menominee County, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at her home. Born and raised in the South Branch area, Noreen was the daughter of Patricia (Shiviner) Peters and the late Orvis “Flea” Peters. Noreen was a kind-hearted person who never turned away from someone in need. She enjoyed cooking and was well-known for her fry-bread and her homemade pizzas. Her family was most important to her and she enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. Noreen was a very hard worker who took pride in a job well done. She also took great pride in beating just about anyone at a game of pool. Noreen is survived by her husband, Robert Johnson Jr.; her children, Robert Johnson III, James (Tonya) Johnson, Timothy (Casha) Johnson, Amanda (Bayron) Rodriguez, Matthew (Ashley) Johnson; her grandchildren, Lee Johnson, Jamison Johnson, Kayleigh Cloud, Bayron Rodriguez Jr., Matthew Johnson Jr., Renesmae Rodriguez, Jahyra Rodriguez; her mother, Patricia Peters; and her siblings, Jim (Katy) Peters, Janice Peters, Lynn (Don) Collins, Herman Peters, Doreen (Ken) Ebben, Karen Peters, George (Samantha) Peters, Jodi Peters, John Peters, Joe (Jessie) Peters, Patricia (Michael) Strube, David Westling, Robert Johnson Sr., Mary Beth (Bert) Huntington, Marty Johnson and Hope Johnson. Noreen was preceded in death by her father, Orvis James “Flea” Peters; her brother, Mike “Flea” Peters; her nephew, Talon Peters; and her mother-in-law, Chantel Johnson. Funeral services was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at the South Branch Community Center with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Visitation was held at the community center from 4 p.m. Sunday until the time of the service on Tuesday. A parish wake service was held at 7 p.m. Monday.
