Thomas F. Wagner, 71, of the town of Wescott, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 29, 1942, in Hartford, he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Kreilkamp) Wagner.
Thomas lived in the Shawano area since 1972. He owned and operated Thomas Wagner Roofing and Remodeling. On Aug. 14, 2000, he was united in marriage to Rhonda (nee Knuth) Bunke in the town of Wescott. Thomas enjoyed listening to country music, especially his favorites, George Jones, Willie Nelson and Elvis Presley. He also enjoyed going out to eat at the Spinning Wheel, visiting the local casinos and his many trips to Jamaica prior to his stroke in 2007.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Rhonda; two daughters, Debbie Wagner, of Columbus, Ohio, and Julie (Kelly Klein) Mulder, of Green Bay; a grandson, Nick Mulder, of Green Bay; four siblings, Robert Wagner, of Hartford, Janet (Doug) Pfister, of Lake Tomahawk, Carol Hose, of Juneau, and Susan (Robert) Welsch, of Beaver Dam; and the mother of his children, Kathleen (John) Peterson, of Green Bay. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Emily Knuth; a sister-in-law, Lori (Steve Erbrecht) Knuth, of Shawano; a brother-in-law, William (Cookie) Knuth, of Marinette; many nieces and nephews; and his special four-legged friend and pal, Misty.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth Wagner; an infant brother, Robert James Wagner; father-in-law, William R. Knuth; sister-in-law, JoAnn Wagner; and a brother-in-law, John Hose.
In honor of Tom’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.
Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
