Dale F. Meyer

Dale F. Meyer, 66, of the town of Pella, Shawano County, passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 11, 2014, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee surrounded by his family. Dale was born on Aug. 8, 1947, in Marinette as the son of the late Edgar and Edna (Alsborg) Meyer. He met Barbara Bittner while in college and the couple was later united in marriage on June 24, 1970, in Milwaukee. If there were one word to describe Dale it would be “farmer.” His love of farming began as a child growing up on the family farm. Dale and Barb purchased a farm a few years after college in the town of Pella where he farmed for 23 years. For the past 13 years, he was employed as a truck driver for Schierl Oil and retired this past June because of health reasons. Dale was a quiet man with a contagious smile. He loved to spend time with his family; especially when it came to golf, fishing, or playing cards. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; children, Rebecca (Craig) Berwaldt, North Tonawanda, N.Y., David (Stacy) Meyer, Bear Creek, Sarah (Kyle) Conlon, New London, Kevin (Susan) Meyer, Minneapolis, Brian Meyer and Kristy, Oshkosh, and Amy Meyer, Eau Claire; grandchildren, Traetan, Haley and Zachary; brother, John (Joan) Meyer, New Berlin; and sister, Nancy (John) Bartkowski, Crivitz. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Paul, and a brother, Nick. A prayer service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at 6 p.m. at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville with the Rev. John Smith officiating. Interment will be at the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville, in the spring. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service.
