Diane I. Arneson, 71, of Shawano, formerly of Clintonville, passed away on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at her residence. Diane was born on October 31, 1942, in Shawano, the daughter of the late Orville and Lula (Straus) Teetzen.
She graduated from Shawano High School and later lived and worked in Neenah. On Feb. 14, 1978, Diane was united in marriage to Harold “Hattie” Arneson in Lake Tahoe, Nev. The couple lived in Clintonville all of their married life. Diane had worked with her husband, Harold, in the Arneson businesses in Clintonville, which included the Christmas tree business, clerical work with the car dealership and driving school bus. The couple also enjoyed traveling together. Harold preceded his wife in death on June 28, 2001, after 23 years of marriage. Diane was a past member of Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, where she had belonged to the choir. She was a current member of Zion Lutheran Church, Shawano, and a member of the Clintonville Riverside Golf Club. Diane was a fabulous cook, enjoyed crossword puzzles, the outdoors, riding horses, loved animals, enjoyed flying, visiting Mackinac Island, Mich., and had a green thumb for growing plants. She was a volunteer for meals on wheels and will be remembered as a helping and caring person.
Survivors include her son, Gregg (Amber) Arneson, Shawano; her granddaughter, Morgan Arneson; her brother, Joel (Jane) Teetzen, Iowa; her special friend, Tom Schewe, Clintonville; and numerous close relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold “Hattie,” her niece, Vickie Teetzen, and her nephew, Sam Teetzen.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, with the Rev. Gisele Berninghaus officiating. Inurnment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
