Abrams Spotlight Productions Inc. will hold auditions for its next musical, “Little Shop of Horrors,” from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 8 and 9 at The Byng Community Theater, 5852 Maple St., Abrams.
The show tells the story of a down-and-out floral assistant who becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon “Audrey II” grows into an ill-tempered, foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite.
Actors age 13 and older are invited to audition. They will be asked to sing an upbeat song from a musical (not a song from “Little Shop of Horrors”). A CD player will be provided, or individuals can sing a cappella.
Individuals must audition in order to be in the show; no late entries will be allowed. Rehearsals will be held on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday nights beginning in January. Show dates are April 4-6 and April 11-13. Actors should consider their availability for all rehearsals and show dates before auditioning.
