Alyssa A. Chapek, 24, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident with her boyfriend, David Lewis. Alyssa was born May 16, 1996, to Anne (Hoffmann) Abbott and David Simmons in Milwaukee. She was raised in Racine for most of her adolescent years. Alyssa’s family relocated to the Shawano area in late 2008. She made a lot of friends and lived her life to the fullest. Alyssa was blessed with the joy of raising her two sons, whom she loved with her whole heart.
Alyssa will be dearly missed by her sons, Carson and Kaden Hanley; mother, Anne Abbott; father, David Simmons; sisters, Stacy Smith, Stacey Simmons and Samantha Simmons; brothers, David and Mitch Simmons; brothers-in-law, Randy Smith III and Jonathan Ingle; nephews, Kaysin Ingle, Skyler Ingle, Dexter Smith and Jaxon Ingle; aunt, Cyndie; and uncle, Ted. She is further survived by other family members and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Theodore Hoffmann, Barbara Brown and James and Jean Simmons; cousins, Chris and Jeannie, and a nephew, Randy Smith IV.
A memorial service for Alyssa will be held at noon on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home and again Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
