Shawano-Menominee Court News

• Ronald E. Lee, 31, had his probation revoked Oct. 20 from a 2023 conviction for two counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia to manufacture or store methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs and two counts of felony bail jumping. Judge William Kussel Jr. sentenced him Dec. 1 to five years in prison followed by seven years of extended supervision with conditions.

• Douglas Andrew Delveaux, 53, Oconto, pleaded no contest Dec. 1 to two misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct. A related felony count was dismissed in a plea agreement. Judge Michael Judge withheld sentencing and placed him on one year of probation with conditions.

Shawano library prepares for Community Read

The annual Shawano County Library Winter Read is undergoing some changes in 2026.

The program will now by known as the Shawano County Library Community Read, and instead of focusing on one book in the winter months, it will focus on four books throughout the entire year.

DNR urges caution on early ice covers

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources encourages all enjoying outdoor fun this season to be extra careful on all of Wisconsin’s waterbodies and remember that no ice is safe ice.

Those eager to take advantage of winter’s snow need to keep safety at the forefront of their preparations. This includes staying alert to the rapidly changing ice conditions commonly found in the early parts of winter.
