Pulaski counselor receives state award for her work


Candice Bogacz is the 2026 recipient of the Wisconsin School Counselor Association (WSCA) Lifetime Achievement Award.

“I was just blown away,” Bogacz said about when she received the call from WCSA letting her know that she was selected for the award. “It’s such an honor.”

Bogacz is the school counselor at Pulaski Community School District’s Glenbrook Elementary School. She has been in the position for almost 20 years.

Oconto Falls High School staff member arrested on misconduct allegation

An Oconto Falls High School teacher has been arrested on allegations of misconduct, Oconto Falls School District Superintendent Stuart Russ wrote in a letter to district staff and families.

Oconto County Jail records show the man was booked into the jail the evening of Dec. 14 on suspicion of sexual misconduct by school staff and fourth-degree sexual assault.

Neopit couple charged with child abuse, neglect

A Neopit couple whose infant child suffered burns to the torso and broken bones have each been indicted by a federal grant jury on single counts of child abuse and child neglect.

If convicted, Louis A. Tucker, 23, and Nyomi L.M. Acosta, 21, each face a maximum of 17 1/2 years in prison, a period of supervised release and fines.

Shawano-Menominee Court News

• Colton R. Sucharda, 30, Shawano, pleaded no contest Dec. 15 to possession of methamphetamine and two misdemeanor counts of bail jumping. Judge Katherine Sloma levied fines and court costs and sentenced him to 120 days in county jail.

• Devyn S. Snake, 26, De Pere, pleaded no contest Dec. 18 to possession of narcotic drugs. Judge William Kussel Jr. levied fines and court costs and sentenced him to 180 days in county jail.

Oconto County Court News

• Logan L. Hernandez, 40, Shawano, pleaded no contest Dec. 15 to misdemeanor charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. A related felony charge was dismissed in a plea agreement. Judge Michael Judge levied $926 in court costs and sentenced Hernandez to 10 days in county jail.
