Theresa A. Schulta

Theresa A. Schulta, 74, Schofield, passed away on Sept. 5, 2024, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 28, 1950, in Wausau, daughter of the late Joseph and Dolores (Beske) Ogiba. She was united in marriage on April 22, 1972, to Michael A. Schulta in Rothschild. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1996. Theresa, “Terri” or affectionately known by her grandchildren as Grandma T, worked at the former J.I. Case/Drott Manufacturing in Schofield, Greenheck Fan, Becker Communications, Younkers, Kohl’s and most recently, Kwik Trip. Each of the companies treated her like family, and for that her children are forever grateful. Theresa had a passion for decorating and design. This allowed her to start T.A. Schulta and Associates, where she implemented her creative techniques that helped many local businesses and homeowners achieve their goals. Theresa also operated the former Schmidt and Schulta Furniture, Gift and Yule Shoppe in Wittenberg. Theresa had a love for the sun. She spent many summers enjoying the family cottages in Presque Isle and Norrie Lake. Her love for the sandy beaches in Florida was like no other. She could be found drinking an ice cold beer at the tiki bar on the beach while watching the beautiful sunsets. The Christmas spirit ran though Theresa all 12 months of the year. She was always looking for deals for both her children and grandchildren. Even her home reflected her love for Christmas, with her Santa collection and year-round holiday decor. You could always count on Theresa to let you know how many more days were left until Christmas. Because of her love for the holiday, she will always be remembered by her favorite quote of “Always Believe.” Survivors include her four children, Ryan Schulta, Oshkosh, Jason (fiancé April Schuerer) Schulta, Norrie Lake, Heather (Travis Andrus) Schulta, Mattoon, and Brandon (Chrissy) Schulta, Elm Grove; her cherished and loving grandchildren, Mackenzie, Berlynn and Michael Schulta, Taylor Matsche and Courtlyn Andrus, Ian and Bennett Schulta, and her step-grandchildren, Gavin (Cassidy) Scheurer and Calvin and Lexi Scheurer. Theresa is further survived by her siblings, Joanne (Joe Van Hammond) Ogiba, Townsend, Robert (Leigh) Ogiba, Mosinee, John (Colleen) Ogiba, Aniwa, and Donna (Mike) McMahon, Weston; nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley. The Rev. Allan Slowiak will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday and again on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Theresa’s name. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
