Pulaski opened WIAA regional action with a semifinal win over West De Pere.

Ruth Krause scored first, assisted by Lydia Stangler. The second goal was scored by Leah Grygiel, assisted by Kara Barber.

Goalkeeper Tatum Wentland had no saves in the shutout win.

The Red Raiders were seeded third, and the Phantoms were 14th.

Tuesday, June 2

Seymour Sectional

Menominee Nation/Gresham scored 345 and placed fifth at the Division 2 team sectionals at Crystal Springs Golf Course.

Oconto Falls golfers scored 349 and placed seventh.

Scoring for the Eagles were Allex Mahl with 82, Elliott Penass with 84, Gabe Boivin with 89 and Anikohsaeh Corn with 90.

Wisconsin’s sportsmen largely support increased hunting, fishing and trapping fees, but a 50% increase is too much, according to results of the combined Conservation Congress and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources spring hearings and online survey of 44 questions.

De Pere, Division 1

Finishers in the top three at Division 1 sectionals qualified for the state meet, which will be held June 5-6 at UW-La Crosse.

Pulaski athletes advancing to the state meet are:

Emerson Fabry, girls 800-meter run, first, 2:14.56; 1,600-meter run, second.

Talyn Pratt, 200-meter dash, second.

Noelle Manning, shot put, second.

Bonduel, Shawano, Marinette, Waupaca and Hortonville picked up Dairyland League baseball wins May 31.

Eric Gruenewald drove in five runs on three hits to lead the Broncos over the Reds.

His hits included a two-run home run in the eighth inning and RBI singles in the second and ninth.

Antigo/Polar had no problems making contact with the baseball, as the Bears rolled to a 19-5 win over Aniwa May 31 in a matchup of BABA North Division teams.
