On Aug. 23, 2021, Electa “Tammy” Fox, 78, of Sobieski, drew her last earthly breath. She was born in 1943 in Gary, Indiana, to Theodore P. Fox and Sadie Helen (Shier) Krubsack Fox. After graduating from high school, Tammy enlisted in the U.S. Navy, joining its Medical Corps and studying to become a Physician Assistant. After nine years of proud military service, Tammy moved to Mountain, where her father resided.

Linda L. (Van Lanen) Schmidt, 72, was called to heaven on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021, with family by her side. Linda was born March 2, 1949, to the late Merlin VanLanen and Priscilla “Percy” Van Lanen Knaub. On Sept. 14, 1968, Linda married Randall Schmidt. They raised their two children in Green Bay and then moved to Lakewood. In 1990, they took over ownership and operated the Lakewood Hotel and Bar for over 20 years.

Ray Krause, 69, Oconto Falls, died Thursday evening, Aug. 19, 2021, with his family present, following complications from Parkinson’s disease diagnosed nine years ago. The second oldest child of Kenneth and Alva “Jean” (Lusha) Krause was born June 12, 1952, in Oconto Falls. Ray grew up in Oconto Falls where he attended public schools, graduating from high school with the Class of 1970.

Thomas Joseph Kopacz, 76, passed away in Appleton on Aug. 11, 2021. He was born on June 5, 1945, to Evelyn (Bernitt) and Casmir Kopacz. Tom was an entertainer. He loved talking to people and was quick to strike up conversation. He was known as “the agitator,” which was a nickname he wore proudly. He enjoyed boating, riding his motorcycle, fishing, hunting, golfing and most of all he loved creating music.

Betty Marlene Hance, 89, of Buffalo, Minnesota, formerly of Wittenberg, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021, at Park View Care Center. Betty was born April 9, 1932, in Villa Grove, Illinois, the daughter of the late Arthur and Lena (Allen) Fleener. She married Thomas B. Hance on July 25, 1948, in Tuscola, Illinois. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1979. Betty and Tom began their life together on a small farm in Galton, Illinois.

Evangeline “Eva” Sippel, 83, of the Town of Washington, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, at Care Partners of Clintonville. Eva was born Jan. 8, 1938, in Laredo, Texas, daughter to the late Fidel and Ramona (Gutierrez) Guardjo. Eva grew up in Laredo and moved to Wisconsin after marrying John Sippel Sr. After being blessed with six children, Eva started working at Tecumseh Products in Sheboygan Falls.
