Lester Kraning

Lester “Pete” Kraning, 85, Town of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. The son of Herman and Emma (Krause) Kraning was born Sept. 11, 1936. Pete married Bonnie Bierhals on Sept. 17, 1966, at Peace Lutheran Church. In his earlier years, he was a foreman for C. Reiss Coal in Green Bay. For the majority of the rest of his working career, he was self-employed.
Kenneth W. Winter Sr.
Kenneth W. Winter Sr., 84, of Neenah and formerly of Krakow, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, Aug. 1, 2022, at ThedaCare Medical Center in Appleton. The son of Paulus and Marcella (Bohm) Winter was born May 23, 1938, in Mountain. Ken grew up in Krakow and graduated from Pulaski High School with the class of 1956. On Jan. 17, 1959, he married Bonnie Mehlberg at First Presbyterian Church in Oconto.
Ann M. Fuge
Ann M. Fuge, 81, of the Town of Matteson, passed away on Monday, Aug. 1, 2022 at her home. Ann Fuge was a lifelong resident of Clintonville, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and vibrant member of the community; truly living a life of service above self.
Carol Ruth Hakala
Carol Ruth Hakala, age 90, of Clintonville, formerly of the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the ThedaCare Medical Center in Shawano. Carol was born Aug. 13, 1931, in Bonduel as the daughter of the late George and Sophia (Backhaus) Kreutzer.
Irvin J. Rozmiarek
Irvin J. Rozmiarek, 92, Shawano, died Sunday, July 31, 2022, at his home. The son of Felix and Regina (Lasecki) Rozmiarek was born on Nov. 21, 1929, in the Town of Maple Grove. Irvin grew up in the Hofa Park area on the family farm and graduated from Pulaski High School. He helped build silos for Robaidek Construction after high school. From 1954-1956 he served in the U.S. Army as a stevedore and later was promoted to corporal.
Walter Saffran
Walter “Buck” Saffran passed away on July 19, 2022. He was born on Aug. 25, 1943, to Eunice (Bunn) and Leo Saffran in Oconto. Leo died when Buck was 3. In 1953, Eunice married Ernest “Hank” Saffran who served as Buck’s father figure. Buck graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1961 and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1972 with a degree in accounting.
Allan R. “Al” Giese
Allan R. “Al” Giese, age 71 of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at his home on Kelly Lake. Al was born July 7, 1951, in Oconto Falls, a son of the late Albert and Mary Ann (Gudwer) Giese. He attended the Sunny Slope Country School near Gillett, then was a student at Shawano High School, graduating with the Class of 1969. Following high school, Al enrolled at UW-Madison.
