Irvin J. Rozmiarek, 92, Shawano, died Sunday, July 31, 2022, at his home. The son of Felix and Regina (Lasecki) Rozmiarek was born on Nov. 21, 1929, in the Town of Maple Grove.
Irvin grew up in the Hofa Park area on the family farm and graduated from Pulaski High School. He helped build silos for Robaidek Construction after high school. From 1954-1956 he served in the U.S. Army as a stevedore and later was promoted to corporal. On July 25, 1959, he married Rita Socha at St. Casimir Church, Krakow.
Irvin and Rita raised their six children on a 40-acre farm near Hofa Park. The children were told that they were raised on the farm to keep the boys out of trouble (it didn’t always work).
Irvin then worked as a trailer mechanic for Olson Trailer and Body and Service and Equipment Inc. for 15 years. He started Hofa Park Construction and worked for over 25 years until his retirement. Once he retired, Irvin continued woodworking, making beautiful bowls, and other keepsakes.
Irvin was a member of St. Casimir Parish in Krakow. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and watching the Green Bay Packers, and was proud to be part owner of the Green and Gold. He was an avid joke teller. Spending time with family and holidays were very important to him.
Irvin is survived by his loving wife of over 63 years, Rita; six children, Thomas (Debra) Rozmiarek, Krakow, Julie (Duane) Hille, Melita Island, Montana, James (Claudia) Rozmiarek, Shawano, Kathy (Mike) Statz, Madison, William (Heather) Rozmiarek, Green Bay, and John (Catrina) Rozmiarek, Arizona; his 11 grandchildren, Veronica (Gedare), Valerie (Brent), Zachary (Jennifer), Jay (Christine), Adam (Samantha), Sara (Tim), Noah, Alexander, Allison (fiancé Ryen) Natalie and Jacob; and nine great-grandchildren, Annalise, Linnea, Henrik, Casmir, Alaina, Hanna, Nicholas, Caden and Amy.
He is further survived by a brother, Joe (Cookie) Rozmiarek, Hawaii; brothers-in-law, Tom (Joan) Socha, Bernie (June) Socha, and Jim (Kim) Socha; sisters-in-law, Agnes (Bob) Miller, Clara (Fred) Fleishman, Mary Ellen Socha, Audrey Socha, and Jane Rozmiarek; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Felix and Regina, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph (Marilyn) Rozmiarek and Harry Rozmiarek; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Sylvester Socha, Bill Socha, and Betty (Dick) Ostry.
Friends are invited to gather with family at Assumption BVM Church, 119 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, on Thursday, Aug. 4, from 9-10:30 a.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Carmen Scuderi, O.F.M. presiding. Burial with military honors provided by the Pulaski Area Veterans will follow at St. Casimir Cemetery, Krakow.
