Ernest “Ernie” J. Bushman, 97, of Galloway, died peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Ernie was born on Aug. 27, 1927, on a small dairy farm in the Town of Franzen, near Galloway, the son of Joseph and Mary (Bluma) Bushman. Ernie was drafted into the United States Army on Nov.

The Forest History Association of Wisconsin is partnering with the Menominee Tribe’s Historic Preservation Officer and its forest manager to tell the story of change in the lives of tribal members and their forest that began more than 200 years ago and continues even today. The storytelling began in September with a pair of free webinars to be followed by a conference in Keshena, set for Oct.

Healthy Oconto County, a coalition of agencies and individuals in Oconto County working together to assess and improve community health, has scheduled its second annual Men’s Night at Primal Eats on the evening of Oct. 1. The keynote speaker at the event will be Harry Sydney, former Green Bay Packer and founder of My Brother’s Keeper. He plans to talk about the importance of mental health. The event begins at 5 p.m.

The Walls of Wittenberg Art Gallery will host a new exhibit that captures the beauty and diversity of wildlife through multiple artistic mediums. The exhibit “Untamed” will feature a collection of oil paintings, murals, wood carvings and taxidermy showcasing the talents of several acclaimed artists.
