Gresham/Bowler soccer team still looking for conference win

Sept. 23 Columbus Catholic 8, Gresham/Bowler 0 Gresham/Bowler remains winless in the Central Wisconsin Conference after a 8-0 shutout against Columbus Catholic. Columbus Catholic improved to 5-1 in conference play, while Gresham/Bowler dropped to 0-6 (1-8 overall).
Eagles volleyball team evens record
Sept. 23 Menominee Nation 3, Pembine/Goodman 0 Menominee Nation upped their overall record to an even 5-5 after a 3-0 non-conference home win over Pembine/Goodman.
Golfers play in middle of the pack
Sept. 23 Notre Dame Triton Invitational Shawano and Pulaski’s golf teams found themselves in the middle of the pack of a 23-team invite at Oneida Golf and Country Club. The Hawks placed 11th with a 394, while the Red Raiders finished 14th with a 426. Kaukauna won the meet with a 328. Shawano was led by Sophia Eggert at 84. She was joined by Grace Pensis at 100, Maci Heagle at 102 and Delanie Kunze at 103.
Pulaski soccer team defeats Beaver Dam
Sept. 19 Pulaski 3, Beaver Dam 1 The Red Raiders took down the Golden Beavers 3-1 in a non-conference matchup. Pulaski jumped out early with a goal from Dakota Messenger in the third minute. AJ Schenk assisted on the score. Hudson Schultz added a Red Raider goal in the 49th minute to double the lead.

Sept. 18 Deputies responded to 48 incidents, including a wanted person on North Farm Road in Oconto Falls, drugs in the Town of Abrams, a drug-endangered child case in the Town of Breed, a disturbance on South Washington Street in Oconto Falls, one traffic stop, one traffic hazard, one traffic offense, two citizen assists, five miscellaneous traffic incidents, two welfare checks; four 911 hangups; three crashes, two involving deer. Brooks enjoys family environment in Green Bay
Running back Chris Brooks signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2023. Brooks made the Dolphins final roster. He was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 20, 2023, then activated on Dec. 19. Brooks was released by the Dolphins on Sept. 2, with an injury settlement. Chad Angus named new chief deputy
Oconto County Sheriff’s Patrol Lt. Chad Angus has been promoted to chief deputy of the department, Sheriff Todd Skarban announced at the Sept. 19 meeting of the Oconto County Board. “I’ve known Chad my entire law enforcement career. We became fast friends when we were road patrol deputies together,” Skarban said. “He’s steady, he’s trusted, he’ll always tell the truth even if you don’t want to hear it.
