Robert Lee Unger Jr., 67, of Shawano, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at a local nursing home. Born on Nov. 20, 1946, in Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert and Angelina A. (Germano) Unger Sr. Robert grew up in the Shawano area, returning 11 years ago. He was an active member of Greenpeace and an active environmentalist. Investigators have not yet determined the cause of a fire that destroyed a large old barn at N8959 U.S. Highway 45, about three miles south of Clintonville, on Monday afternoon. Osborne Peter Crowe, 80, of Neopit, passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at the Appleton Medical Center. Osborne was born May 25, 1933, in Keshena, the son of David Crowe and Alice Makimatas. Diane R. Kast, 72, of Shawano, passed away peacefully late Saturday evening, Dec. 28, 2013, at her home, following a lengthy illness. Diane was born July 19, 1941, in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Daniel G. and Ruth (Steffen) Meyer. She attended school in Milwaukee and following graduation from high school, she was employed at Marquette University as a secretary/receptionist at the dental school. On Feb.

Alfred L. Siolka, 85, of Bonduel, passed away on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at a local nursing home. Born on Nov. 9, 1928, in Maple Grove, he was the son of the late Frank and Victoria (Pochron) Siolka. In his younger years, Al worked for the canning factory, toy factory and at the bowling alley in Pulaski.
