Police logged 24 incidents, including the following:
Warrant — A 31-year-old man was taken into custody on a warrant at the Probation and Parole offices, 1340 E.
A Marion business owner is facing criminal charges for allegedly passing a couple of worthless checks that totaled more than $5,000.
Tom A. Wulf, 47, who is listed in the complaint as doing business as Big Lug Trailers, LLC, is charged with one felony and one misdemeanor count of issuing a worthless check.
The Shawano Community High School boys basketball team used balanced scoring to remain undefeated in the Bay Conference with a win Thursday over Oconto Falls.
Eleven players scored for the Hawks in the 42-33 victory.
The Hawks (7-2, 5-0 Bay) were led by Travis Geenen and Jack Lacy, who each had six points. Dylan Frechette and Sajen Kneuppel each added five.
A big first half helped the Bonduel High School girls basketball team withstand Weyauwega-Fremont forward Morgan Wilson’s 21 points in a Central Wisconsin Conference-8 matchup Thursday in Bonduel.
Bonduel held on to win 46-39.
The Bears (7-1, 3-1 CWC-8) jumped out to a 16-4 lead in the first quarter and expanded it to a 20-point lead shortly after halftime, but Wilson’s third quarter explosion kept the game close.
Shawano County area Girl Scouts will begin selling America’s favorite cookies again this week.
The annual Girl Scout Cookie Program begins Friday throughout northern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and continues through March 23.
The program helps girls develop business skills such as decision making, goal setting, money management and business ethics, as well as their people skills.
The Green Bay Packers Foundation is supporting farm families in Outagamie, Shawano and Waupaca counties through a $1,000 grant to the Rural Health Initiative.
The Rural Health Initiative takes health care directly to farmers in their homes by sending a registered nurse to area farms for health screenings and to provide practical health and wellness advice.

Reginald G. “Reggie” Maltbey, 78, of Appleton, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at his home. He was born in Shawano on Jan. 11, 1935, to the late George and Marryella (Rosenow) Maltbey.
Reginald served in the Army from 1954-1957. He married Janet Frank on July 7, 1958, in Menominee, Mich. Prior to his retirement, Reggie worked at Appleton Coated Paper for 12 years and Miller Electric for 27 years.
Janet E. Sorenson, 66, Shawano, formerly of Green Bay, died unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at her home. She was born Jan. 13, 1947, in Green Bay to Walter and Elizabeth Sorenson.
Janet had been employed at Oneida Golf and Riding Country Club, and more recently at K-Mart.
Larry W. Lane, 63, of Menasha, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. He was born in Appleton on Feb. 16, 1950, the son of Vernon L. Lane and Betty G. (Bleck) Lane.
Larry was a proud Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Challenge the Outdoors and loved to hunt, boat and fish.
