New Era House contract expires
Convicted felons released into the Shawano community will continue to be placed at the New Era House until a new facility can be found. The state Department of Corrections’ contract with the New Era House, 105 E. Richmond St., officially expired Thursday after a one-month extension. The DOC earlier this year contracted with ATTIC Correctional Services for an eight-bed facility at 227 E. Richmond St.

Tigerton man arrested after shooting incident
A Tigerton man is facing felony charges in connection with a shooting incident that allegedly occurred during a domestic disturbance in Tigerton early Friday. Jeremy A. Boivin, 36, has been charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, along with misdemeanor counts of operating a firearm while intoxicated and disorderly conduct.
