Hundt scores five goals in Shawano/Bonduel hockey win

Gavin Hundt scored five goals and Blake Swedberg had two as Shawano/Bonduel’s boys hockey team beat Manitowoc United 9-4 on Dec. 5.

The Hawks scored three times in each period with a total of 41 shots on goal. Manitowoc United had 28 shots on goal.

Swedberg started off the scoring with a goal just 33 seconds into the game with Hundt assisting. Manitowoc United tied the game at 1-1 at 1:55. Hundt scored unassisted at 2:55 and 6:29 to give the Hawks at 3-1 lead going into the second period.

Kielian Armbruster cored unassisted at 1:22 in the second period, Hundt added his third goal at 4:19 with help from Swedberg. Manitowoc United scored at 7:16 and 8:15 to make it 5-3. Swedberg assisted Hundt for his fourth goal at 12:46 as Shawano/Bonduel took a 6-3 lead heading into the final period.

Hundt assisted on Swedberg’s goal at 3:10, and Michael Dillenberg assisted Hundt at 7:39 as the Hawks took an 8-3 lead. Manitowoc United scored at 11:58, and Shawano/Bonduel’s Landon Victory scored with an assist from Cameron Schroeder at 16:59 to end the scoring.

Hawks goalie Tyson Lyons notched 24 saves, while Manitowoc United’s Jackson Kudow had 32.

Shawano/Bonduel was penalized just once for two minutes, while Manitowoc United was called for seven infractions for 14 minutes.
