Evelyn Anna Rambo, of Antigo, died on Oct. 31, 2025, at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was 93 years old.
She was born March 29, 1932, in Appleton, a daughter of the late August and Idella (Sederstrom) Noffke. She married her husband of 67 years, Leonard Rambo, on Aug. 20, 1949, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2017.
Evelyn was a graduate of Shawano High School class of 1949. She first worked as an assembler at Briggs and Stratton in Milwaukee. Evelyn worked at Badger Meter in Brown Deer as a bookkeeper for six years. She owned and operated the Hillcrest Motel in Wittenberg along with her husband, Leonard, for 16 years. In 1991, they moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where they did demos in various stores for 16 years before moving back to Wisconsin.
Evelyn was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wittenberg and a member their Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was a homemaker, loved to cook and bake, crochet and was an avid reader. Evelyn cherished the few trips she took to Nashville and was a lover of country music.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Rambo, of Gresham and Donna (Steve) Resch, of Phlox; five grandchildren, Mark (Dawn) Rambo, of Antigo, Angelica Rambo, of Georgia, Tina (Bud) Kaney, of Laporte, Minnesota, Todd (Chrissy) Hanke, of Green Bay, and Karl Hanke, of Wittenberg; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Rambo, Forrest Kaney, Cody Kaney, Cecelia Hanke and Rosalie Hanke; a sister, Betty Piantek, of Shawano; and two sisters-in-law, Lucille Noffke, of Mequon, and Sue Noffke, of Cecil. Evelyn is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Rambo and David Rambo; two brothers, Leonard Noffke and Ronald Noffke; and a brother-in-law, Tony Piantek.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Christians officiating.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
