David Messenger

David John Messenger, AKA Super Dave, 45, of Oconto Falls, died unexpectedly Aug. 27, 2025. He was born Oct. 29, 1979, to John and Colleen Messenger.

David was an avid bowler for many years. He also enjoyed taking care of lawns for others and helping them with yard work and household chores.

He had a loving heart that anyone who knew him saw. He also enjoyed “shooting the breeze” with others.

He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Lena.

David is survived by his sons, Dakota and Hunter Messenger, and their mother, Jessica; parents, John and Colleen Messenger; sister and brother-in-law, Heidi and Ed VanDenHeuvel; nieces, Macie and Liberty VanDenHeuvel; and many wonderful, loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ruth and John Goldsmith; maternal grandparents, Glenn and Patricia Nicklaus; uncles, Mike, Richard, Dan; and aunt, Emily Messenger.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Lena, from noon to 2 p.m. with funeral service at 2 p.m., Pastor Ryan Landwehr officiating.

Although we are heartbroken, we are grateful he knew his Lord and Savior and is at home with him in heaven.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
