Cheryl “Cherie” A. Fletcher, 68, of the town of Larrabee, Waupaca County, passed away at her home Tuesday evening, Aug. 20, 2013, after a courageous 11-month battle with breast cancer.
Cherie was born on Jan. 4, 1945, in Watseka, Ill., as the youngest child of Jay and Gladys (Wallington) McCue.
The family moved to Waupaca, when Cherie was 9.
She graduated from Waupaca High School in 1963 and later married her high school sweetheart, Gary Fletcher, on Oct. 10, 1964.
After moving several times throughout Wisconsin, Gary and Cherie settled with their family in Clintonville, where they opened Fletcher’s Jewelry in 1974.
Cherie worked at Torborg’s Lumber for several years and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clintonville. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Gary; daughters, Jill (Curt) Roloff, Freedom, Jody Fletcher, Clintonville, and Jana (Jamison) Yorton, Shawano; grandchildren, Acacia (Ryan Kramer) Fletcher, Clintonville, Bethany Roloff, Green Bay, Dylan Yorton, Shawano, Xavier Fletcher, Manitowoc, Rachel Roloff, Oshkosh, and Brinlee Yorton, Shawano; great-grandchildren, Brennin and Abbigail Kramer, Clintonville; brother, Harold McCue, Indiana; sister, Beverly (Jean) Taden, Waupaca; brothers-in-law, Burl Hamilton, Illinois, Mike (Carol) Fletcher, Waupaca, and Dale (Phil) Fletcher, Marshfield; sisters-in-law, Donzella (Larry) Anderson, Waupaca; and Leah Baehman, Appleton; and several nieces and nephews.
Cherie was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Myron and Ethel Fletcher; sister, Joyce Hamilton; brother, Earl McCue; brothers-in-law, Ray Taden and Darrell Minton; niece, Kara Mahan; and nephew, Brent Taden.
A memorial service for Cherie will be held Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Clintonville with the Rev. Keith Wolf officiating.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to her family for breast cancer research.
