Cellcom invites applications for 2025 Green Gifts program

Cellcom announced the return of its annual Green Gifts program, which provides charitable donations to nonprofit organizations based in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that are dedicated to environmental sustainability and conservation.

This year, Cellcom will distribute a total of $25,000 in Green Gifts to support innovative projects and programs that address environmental challenges and foster sustainability.

Applications for the 2025 Green Gifts program are open and will be accepted through Oct. 31. Recipients will be announced in mid-November.

The Green Gifts program is funded through proceeds from Cellcom’s cell phone recycling initiative, which encourages customers to recycle their old, unwanted or broken phones. The materials recovered from these devices are repurposed, and the proceeds are reinvested into the community through the Green Gifts program.

Eligible organizations include those focused on environmental stewardship, wildlife preservation and sustainability education. Non-environmental organizations with projects or programs that address environmental issues or promote sustainability are also encouraged to apply.

“Environmental sustainability isn’t just an initiative at Cellcom, it’s a responsibility,” said Brighid Riordan, Cellcom CEO. “Through Green Gifts, we’re able to support local changemakers who are rethinking how our communities use, conserve and protect the environment for generations to come.”

Green Gifts can be used to support a variety of initiatives, including but not limited to:

• Community-based projects addressing environmental challenges

• Programs focused on reducing environmental impact

• Educational opportunities for all ages on sustainability and conservation

• Efforts to protect water, air, wildlife and natural landscapes.
