Sweet October
Eighteen years ago this month God blessed us with our daughter. It’s quite suitable that our only girl be born smack dab in the middle of my most favorite season of the year. The earthy smells, the brisk air, the majestic fall colors all bring that time back with a sweet ache. She was quite the surprise, coming to us after 16 years of marriage, following the adoption of her two older brothers.

The committee voted 4-1 to let the pay increases go through for four dispatchers and seven highway workers, with Supervisor Deb Noffke casting the no vote. Dispatchers that started with the Sheriff’s Department in 2013 have received no pay increase.
