Mary C. Elliott

Mary C. Elliott, 73, Green Bay, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 28, 2026, at Serenity Springs Senior Living in Green Bay.

She was born Sept. 30, 1953, in Oconto Falls to Howard V. and Barbara (Scheffel) Elliott. Mary was the second-born of the Elliotts’ 10 children.

Mary attended Oconto Falls public schools, graduating with the class of 1971. She went on to study at UW-Stevens Point and graduated with a degree in education in 1976. She worked as the physical education teacher at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Oconto from 1978-86. In May 1986, she started her career at Humana, where she worked until she retired in January 2018.

During her many years living in Oconto Falls, Mary worked with the Oconto Falls Ambulance Service as an EMT and enjoyed playing softball with the Oconto Falls women’s bar league. She was also an avid supporter of Toys for Tots, donating many loads of toys every Christmas.

She was passionate about the Brewers and took her nieces and nephews to many of the games. She would have been ecstatic if she’d have seen them take the World Series, but we feel she’s celebrating with Uecker. Please wear your Brewers or Packers attire to the service; she would have liked that.

Survivors are her eight siblings, Susan (Jerry) Winter, of Abrams, Joanne (Dennis) Winnega, of Two Rivers, Patricia (Jim Christensen) Elliott, of Little Suamico, Howard (Linda) Elliott III, of Oconto Falls, Douglas (Leia) Elliott, of Oconto Falls, William Elliott, of Saunemin, Illinois, Richard (Barb Mand) Elliott, of Green Bay, and David (Randal Herrin) Elliott, of Greenfield; 16 nieces and nephews; 19 great-nieces and -nephews with the 20th on the way; and uncle, Mark (Linda) Scheffel, of Reno, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Barb Elliott; sister, Eleanore Elliott; along with grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls with a visitation at 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oconto Falls.

The Elliott family would like to thank the staff at Serenity Springs, formerly Grancare Gardens, and Moments Hospice for the love and tender care given to Mary, especially during her last days.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mary’s name to Toys for Tots or Wounded Warriors.
