Waupoose wins boys race in Oconto

Oconto Invitational

Menominee Nation junior Bryant Waupoose III won the Oconto Invitational in 17 minutes, 12 seconds.

Teammates Cashius Reevis placed 15th in 19:54.1, and Christopher Waubanascam was 66th in 26:04.8.

Gresham/Bowler senior Caleb Putnam finished eighth in 19:10.4. He was joined by Mason Martin in 30th in 21:47.5, Blaze Ejnik in 31st in 21:52.4 and Mason Pyatskowit in 49th in 23:52.5.

Wolf River Lutheran’s Anthony Long placed 28th in 21:34.2. He was joined by Ivan Long in 69th in 28:31.8 and Mark Buchholz in 70th in 28:54.8.

For Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas, the top five were Dash Comins, 38th, 22:40.6; Wyatt Kosch, 52nd, 23:59.8; Emiliano Almanza, 54th, 34:01.4; Cooper Malloy, 57th, 24:18.6; and Bronne Thoune, 58th, 24:23.1.

In team scores, Lena/STAA was sixth among seven with 164 points.

Lena/STAA’s Aspynn Anderson placed second among the girls in 21:15.8. She led her teammates to a second-place finish among five teams with 43 points.

She was joined by Alisa Finger in fourth in 22:97.8, Brooklyn Viestenz in ninth in 22:39.9, Sydney Pirlot in 14th in 23:43.7 and Markee Rakow in 27th in 26:30.5.

Wolf River Lutheran’s Violet Buchholz finished eighth in 22:37.4.

Menominee Nation’s Azaliyah Waupoose placed 25th in 26:20.5, and Kaylee Nacotee was 33rd in 28:01.1.

Aubrey Miller ran for Gresham/Bowler and placed 44th in 34:35.6.
