Wisconsin Lutheran College

Students were named to Wisconsin Lutheran College’s dean’s list for the spring 2026 semester. To be eligible, a student must carry a semester GPA of 3.6 or higher.

Peyton Crutcher of Pulaski is a sophomore. Crutcher is a graduate of Ashwaubenon High School.

Leah Schmidt of Bonduel, is a senior. Schmidt is a graduate of Northeastern Wisconsin Lutheran High School.

Meuniers honored to serve as July 4 parade grand marshals

Mitch and Julie Meunier have been a part of the Gillett community for as long as they can remember.

Mitch Meunier and his late father, Frank Meunier, operated the city’s True Value hardware store on Main Street for more than 50 years, while Julie Meunier spent 38 years at what is now a Flagstar Bank branch in Gillett.

Hockey league proposes addition to Crawford Center

Officials with the Shawano Hockey League are proposing an addition to the Crawford Center, their home rink, with intentions of paying for the project themselves.

Adam Gafner, hockey league board president, offered several options at a June 4 public property committee meeting.

“One of the things that was never implemented into the building was showers,” he said.

Courthouse plans advance behind the scenes

The Samuels Group and Venture Architects continue the preparation phase of a $121 million courthouse, jail pod and jail accessory space building project for Shawano County.

Kurt Berner of The Samuels Group provided the latest update at the June 4 public property committee meeting.

• Robert A. Hansen, 54, Suamico, pleaded no contest June 1 to possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony. Judge William Kussel Jr. levied fines and costs totaling $1,158.
