The 2025 gun deer season is over, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said preliminary figures indicate the number of deer hunters in Wisconsin slightly decreased compared to 2024.
A motorist apparently over-corrected and crashed into the Dairy Queen restaurant at 1005 E. Green Bay St. on Nov. 22. It was the latest in a string of vehicles crashing into buildings in the city of Shawano.
Just four days earlier, on Nov. 18, a car crashed into a house at 206 S. Lincoln St., knocking it nearly 5 inches off its foundation.
Bonduel Fire Chief Kevin Lynch doesn’t like it when people use their phones while driving — and he really doesn’t like it when they record a live accident scene when they’re behind the wheel.
Lynch followed up on a Facebook post of a Nov. 26 accident with some strong words for the driver.

• Mister Pernell Anthony, 37, Shawano, was charged Nov. 25 with two counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, and misdemeanor charges of pointing a firearm at a person and battery. Judge William Kussel Jr. set a $7,500 cash bond and scheduled a preliminary hearing for Dec. 4.
• Brian J. Ermis Jr., 24, Suring, was charged Nov. 24 with two counts of felony bail jumping and a misdemeanor count of possession of THC. Judge Michael Judge set a $5,000 cash bond and adjourned his initial appearance until Dec. 15.
