Algoma St., Suring; animal neglect on County Road D in the Town of Morgan; two traffic offenses, one citizen assist, three miscellaneous traffic incidents, one welfare check; two open-line 911 calls; six ambulance calls; eight crashes, two involving deer.

School board approves revised safety plan

The Shawano School Board unanimously approved a comprehensive school safety plan Dec. 22 slated to go into effect for the new year, even though multiple board members did not receive the 119-page plan until minutes before the vote took place.

Retired dentist banned from SCHS

Jeff Zander, a retired dentist, has been banned from Shawano Community High School after decades of working with students, and he made it clear during the Dec. 22 Shawano School Board meeting that he is not happy.

Pulaski counselor receives state award for her work


Candice Bogacz is the 2026 recipient of the Wisconsin School Counselor Association (WSCA) Lifetime Achievement Award.

“I was just blown away,” Bogacz said about when she received the call from WCSA letting her know that she was selected for the award. “It’s such an honor.”

Bogacz is the school counselor at Pulaski Community School District’s Glenbrook Elementary School. She has been in the position for almost 20 years.
