Woelfel talking about lighthouses at Oconto event

Green Bay author Therese Langer Woelfel will discuss her book “Our Guiding Light: Wisdom from the Lighthouse Keeper’s Daughter” at 6:30 p.m. March 5 at the Beyer Home and Carriage Museum, 915 Park Ave., Oconto, as part of the Oconto County Historical Society’s monthly speaker series.

Drawing on her family’s deep connection to the Great Lakes, Woelfel shares a message of faith, resilience and quiet strength in this inspirational memoir. The presentation will feature personal stories and insights from the author’s family history, exploring how the example of a lighthouse keeper — and the daughter who learned from him — created a legacy of guidance that continues to shine across generations.

The book is a tribute to the author’s mother, Vivian Langer, and the Great Lakes lighthouse life that shaped her. The wisdom she gained as a lighthouse keeper’s daughter became the foundation for how she lived, believed and raised her family. Langer grew up during the Great Depression and lived through World War II.

Woelfel is a writer and granddaughter of a Great Lakes lighthouse keeper. Throughout her career, she has held a unique blend of leadership roles in Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurial ventures, and nonprofit organizations.

The program is free. Light refreshments will be served.
