A store specializing in hand-crafted beef jerky, homemade sausage and hand-cut steaks has opened in the Town of Stiles.
Wisco Meats opened a retail store in the plaza next to the A&W restaurant in Stiles, 5068 U.S. Highway 141, offering a wide selection of premium meats, homemade sausage and beef jerky. The store is an offshoot of the Wisco Meats’ jerky-making shop and wild game processing facility in Coleman.
Owner Justin Wisnefske began his career in 2003 as a butcher and meat processor, opening Wisco Meats in 2022 in Coleman. Wisco Meats expanded to Stiles in May with a retail store stocked with high-quality meat, available at discounted prices.
“We are off to a great start, and we are so grateful to everyone who stopped in. It’s the perfect time to pick up some meat for grilling or some jerky or snack sticks for school lunches or hunting trips,” Wisnefske said. “We have such a large selection of fresh meat and seafood, and customers love all of the options.”
The Stiles store carries a variety of beef, pork and chicken processed at Wisco Meats in Coleman, plus a full line of cheese from Springside Cheese and a limited selection of seafood.
Wisco Meats also offers small-batch beef jerky in a variety of flavors, plus many varieties of snack sticks, marinated chicken breasts, pork and chicken brats, summer sausage, breakfast links and burger patties.
Wisco Meats is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The store is closed Monday and Tuesday. Follow Wisco Meats on Facebook for weekly specials.
In addition to its retail store and meat processing facility, Wisco Meats also offers mobile slaughtering and custom cutting of beef and hogs. Prices for slaughtering start at $85 for beef and $60 for hogs, with a two-hog minimum, or $85 for a single hog. Double wrapping and vacuum sealing are available for additional fees.
