Do you enjoy watching the weather? The Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS) is seeking new volunteer observers in northeastern Wisconsin.
CoCoRaHS is a nationwide volunteer network of backyard weather observers who measure and report daily precipitation. Their data supports the National Weather Service, emergency managers, farmers, researchers and others who rely on accurate, localized weather information.
“All you need is a CoCoRaHS approved 4-inch diameter rain gauge, a little training and a few minutes each day,” said Sarah Marquardt, CoCoRaHS state coordinator. “Your reports help fill in the gaps between official weather stations and provide valuable data for our communities.”
Anyone interested in weather — from farmers and gardeners to teachers, students, and enthusiasts — is encouraged to join. Observers submit their daily reports online at www.CoCoRaHS.org.
