Taking out the buoys

Volunteers with Shawano Area Waterways Management spent part of Sept. 25 removing 117 buoys and anchors from Shawano Lake, the Wolf River and the channel. The average buoy and anchor weighs about 117 pounds. The group’s mission is support the responsible recreational use of the lake and its related waterways. (Greg Mellis | NEW Media)
