Stay active this winter with Healthy Oconto County’s new indoor ‘Walk & Talk’ program

Cold, rain, snow or shine — community members across Oconto County are invited to join a new free indoor walking program hosted by Healthy Oconto County in partnership with Oconto County UW-Extension and Oconto County Health and Human Services.

“Walk & Talk” offers residents of all ages and abilities a warm, safe and welcoming place to keep moving all season long.

This program provides a simple way to stay active while connecting with others. Each session includes warm-up, guided walk, cool down and a short health topic designed to help participants build confidence and stay motivated.

Walkers will also learn helpful tips and gather resources to support healthy habits.

Programs are offered weekly at multiple school district locations throughout the county, each meeting once per week on days when school is in session:

• Oconto Falls High School – Hallways

Tuesdays, 5:15-6 a.m.

Additional unfacilitated walking hours: Monday-Friday, 5-7 a.m.; Wednesdays 6-8 p.m.

Sign-in required at the fitness center.

• Gillett High School – Small Gym

Mondays, 6-7 p.m.

Senior citizens receive free admission to that evening’s home athletic event.

• Suring High School – Small Gym

Wednesdays, 6-7 a.m.
