It may have been cold outdoors, but the competition was hot for the annual Chile and Chicken Soup contest held Saturday as part of Clintonville’s Winter Whirl celebration.
There was a steady stream of people stopping at the Park and Recreation Center to sample the soups for a small fee.
Kathy Dins placed first in the Mild Chili category. Tom King placed second, and Ryan Markiewicz placed third.
Dick Gussert had the winning Hot Chili entry. Charles Bettin finished second, and Garth Sturm placed third place.
There were eight entries in the Chicken Soup category, which was won by Patti Mc Auly. Ryan Markiewicz finished second, and Ut Gleisner placed third.
The first-, second- and third-place winners received trophies.
