With Thanksgiving right around the corner, Shawano’s Santa Parade isn’t far behind.
The annual event, sponsored by Charlie’s County Market, will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 5.
“Songs of Christmas” is the 2025 theme.
The parade will start at Elizabeth and South Main streets, proceed north on South Main Street to Green Bay Street, turn west (left) one block to Washington Street, then turn south (left) and end at Franklin Park. There will be no parking on Main Street from 4-9 p.m.

A few notes for participants:
• The staging area for floats will be available at 4:30 p.m. on Elizabeth Street (enter off Lincoln Street). Drop off parade participants at Elizabeth and Lincoln streets; everyone must check in with a volunteer (wearing orange vest).
• There are no restroom facilities at the parade lineup area; please plan accordingly.
• Do not park on Elizabeth Street before or during the parade. Do not park in, or block, Popp’s Ball Park Diner or South Forty parking lots.
• The following floats should line up in order on Main Street in front of the AMVETS Christmas tree lot: police department, color guard and VFW.
They will be followed by the Shawano Community Middle School and Shawano Community High School bands. Next, lined up on Elizabeth Street, will be the Shawano School District truck, Charlie’s County Market and city vehicles. All other floats should line up in the parade staging area (parking lot north of Elizabeth Street) in several rows facing west.
The final float will be a fire truck carrying Santa and Mrs. Claus. There is no set order other than this.
• Santa will be the last parade entry. No other Santas are allowed.
• No candy can be thrown from floats or vehicles. For the safety of children, candy must be handed out instead of thrown. Anyone throwing candy will be asked to leave the parade and not allowed to participate in subsequent years.
• Entries will be judged based on creativity, enthusiasm and spirit, overall appearance and use of theme. Trophies will be awarded in the following categories: Best Use of Theme, Best Nonprofit/Club entry, Best Children’s entry, Best Business entry and People’s Choice. Select your organization’s category on the registration form.
