Hawks beaten by Antigo girls The Shawano Community High School girls basketball team lost 41-29 to Antigo in a nonconference game Tuesday in Antigo. Sara Hokenstad and Riley Tejeda led Shawano (1-9, 1-5 Bay) with five points apiece. Brittney Wald led Antigo (4-6, 2-2 Great Northern) with 13 points. Shawano swimmers top Rhinelander The Shawano Community High School boys swim team beat Rhinelander 103-67 Tuesday in Shawano. Taking firsts for Shawano were Zack Soper (100 breaststroke, 100 butterfly), Griffin Rades (200 individual medley, 100 backstroke), Rolando Colon (500 freestyle) and Jake Klister (50 freestyle). Shawano also took first in the 200 medley relay, the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay. Bowler downed by Port Edwards The Bowler High School girls basketball team lost to Port Edwards 29-24 in a Central Wisconsin Conference-10 game Tuesday in Bowler. Ashlynn Brisk had seven points, 15 rebounds, five assists and five steals. Gresham, Haffner defeat Marion Led by Christian Haffner’s 28 points, the Gresham Community High School boys basketball team beat Marion 68-40 in a CWC-10 game Tuesday in Marion. Thomas Kazik added 10 points for Gresham (10-2, 8-2 CWC-10). Scott Cerveny had nine points, 13 rebounds and seven assists. Cole Drefahl had 26 points for Marion (3-10, 3-6 CWC-10). Truckers top Berlin by 11 The Clintonville High School girls basketball team beat Berlin 47-36 Tuesday in Clintonville. Autumn Voight had 10 points to lead Clintonville (2-9, 1-6 Eastern Valley). Julia Silloway scored 22 points for Berlin (0-11, 0-7 Eastern Valley). Chargers defeat Northland Pines Nick Kapitz scored 21 points and the Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School boys basketball team beat Northland Pines 56-46 in a nonconference game Tuesday in Wittenberg. Tyler Milanowski added nine points for the Chargers (5-8, 1-5 CWC-8). A.J. Skarbek scored 16 points to lead Northland Pines (0-12, 0-5 Great Northern). Hawks lose by 1 to Merrill The Shawano High School boys basketball team lost to Merrill 46-45 Saturday in Shawano. Zack Sousek scored 10 points to lead Shawano (8-4, 6-0 Bay) . Chad Mootz led Merrill (7-6, 2-3 Wisconsin Valley) with 12 points. Eagles take third at Trucker invite The Menominee Indian High School wrestling team took third at Saturday’s Trucker Invitational in Clintonville. Menominee Indian had a team score of 252.5. Omro (321.5) took first, followed by Kenosha Christian Life (290). Clintonville (126) took ninth in the 12-team tournament. Kyle Winker (126) and Austin Lyons (285) won championships for the Eagles. Jake Reiter (195) led the Truckers, taking first place in his bracket. Clintonville boys get lopsided victory The Clintonville High School boys basketball team beat Wittenberg-Birnamwood 45-15 in a nonconference game Monday in Clintonville. Andy Schmidt led Clintonville (4-7, 2-6 Eastern Valley) with 14 points, four assists and two rebounds. Tyler Petermann added 13 points and six rebounds. Nick Kapitz led Wittenberg-Birnamwood (4-8, 1-5 Central Wisconsin Conference-8) with seven points.
