Panthers defeat Marinette
The Oconto Falls High School boys basketball team won 59-49 over Marinette in a Bay Conference game Friday in Oconto Falls.
James Salscheider led Oconto Falls (2-12, 2-9 Bay) with 13 points. Alex Young added 10.
Garrett Waloway scored 20 to lead Marinette (1-13, 1-9 Bay).
Suring boys beat Gillett
The Gillett Secondary School boys basketball team lost 55-44 to Suring in a Marinette & Oconto Conference game Thursday in Suring.
Dylan Roberts led Gillett (4-10, 3-6 M&O) with 17 points. Dan Torres and Jake Kasten each added 11 points.
Dillon Kempen had 17 to lead Suring (6-8, 4-7 M&O). Creo Van Bellinger had 16 and Tyler Fisher added 13.
Lena dismantled by Peshtigo
The Lena High School boys basketball team lost 72-19 to Peshtigo on Thursday in Lena.
Hunter Borchert had 10 points to lead Lena (1-14, 0-10 M&O).
Jordan Berth led Peshtigo (14-1, 10-0 M&O) with 22 points.
Lena falls to N.E.W. Lutheran
Kayla VanLanen’s 18 points wasn’t enough for the Lena High School girls basketball team, which lost 56-42 to Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran in a nonconference game Saturday in Lena.
Melissa Bushmaker added 11 points for Lena (4-9, 3-6 M&O).
Keifer Zimmerman had 17 points for N.E.W. Lutheran (4-9, 2-6 Packerland).
Gillett/Suring swamped by Coleman
The Gillett/Suring wrestling team lost to Coleman 75-6 Thursday in Coleman.
Gillett/Suring’s only points were scored by Garrett Kohls, who pinned Brandon Champagne in 3 minutes, 25 seconds at 120-pounds.
Coleman, the No. 2 ranked team in Division 3 by Wisconsin Wrestling Online, had eight pins, a decision and four forfeits in the near-sweep.
