3 Bears score in double figures
The Bonduel High School boys basketball team beat Menominee Indian 62-57 in a nonconference game Tuesday in Keshena.
Connor Rosin led Bonduel (8-9, 3-6 Central Wisconsin Conference-8) with 15 points. Colton Dobratz and Hunter VanderLinden each added 12.
Dustin Waupoose led Menominee Indian (6-8, 5-6 CWC-10) with 21 points.
Bonduel girls demolish N.E.W. Lutheran
The Bonduel High School girls basketball team beat Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran 61-18 in a nonconference game Tuesday in Green Bay.
Alexa Reinke, who hit on three 3-pointers in the first quarter, led the Bears (11-2, 6-2 CWC-8) with 17 points. Taylor Weier added 14. Jennifer Dowden scored 13 points and had seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Hayley Pues had seven rebounds.
Morgan Meerstein led N.E.W. Lutheran (4-10, 2-6 Packerland) with six points.
Hawks lose defensive struggle
The Shawano Community High School girls basketball team lost 26-18 to Denmark in a Bay Conference game Tuesday in Denmark.
Sara Hokenstad led Shawano (4-11, 4-7 Bay) with seven points.
Brittney Peterson led Denmark (10-5, 6-5 Bay) with eight points.
Bonduel wins home dual
The Bonduel High School wrestling team beat Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol 58-9 in a nonconference meet Tuesday.
Earning pins for the Bears were Austin Siolka (126), Dan Tauchen (152), Mitch Sokolski (160), Jacob Wudtke (170).
Scott Gunderson (113), Garrett Siolka (120), Sam Kroening (145) earned decisions for the Bears.
Bowler, Brisk blow out White Lake
The Bowler High School girls basketball team beat White Lake 59-18 in a nonconference game Tuesday in Bowler.
Ashlynn Brisk led Bowler (5-8, 3-6 CWC-10) with 23 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals and five assists. Kennedy Malone had 11 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks.
Tigerton girls lose to Lena
The Tigerton High School girls basketball team lost to Lena 43-36 in a nonconference game Tuesday in Tigerton.
Katie Watters led Tigerton (3-8, 5-10 Central Wisconsin Conference-10) with 13 points Emily Wendt had nine points and seven rebounds.
Truckers lose to Little Chute
The Clintonville High School girls basketball team lost to Little Chute 39-19 in a Eastern Valley Conference game Tuesday in Little Chute.
Taylor Carpenter led Clintonville (2-12, 1-9 Eastern Valley) with six points.
Alaina Schepp led Little Chute (11-4, 7-3 Eastern Valley) with 14 points.
Eagles wrestlers 7th; Winker gets record
The Menominee Indian High School wrestling team placed seventh out of 20 teams at the Dirk Sorenson Door County Classic wrestling tournament Saturday in Sturgeon Bay.
Kyle Winker (126) and Keenan Richmond (220) both went 4-0 to win championships for the Eagles.
Austin Lyons (285) went 3-1 to take second in the tourney, and James Pecore (182) went 2-2 to finish in fourth place.
Winker’s performance gives him the Menominee Indian career and single season win records. He has 108 career wins and is 36-4 this season.
Clintonville tops New London
The Clintonville High School boys basketball team beat New London 51-44 in a nonconference game Saturday in Clintonville.
Andy Schmidt scored 17 points and Turner Doornink had 11 for Clintonville.
Jacob Pinch led New London with 17.
Truckers’ rally falls short
The Clintonville High School girls basketball team pulled to within six points in the fourth quarter but lost 55-38 to Ripon on Saturday.
Ripon went 11-of-14 at the free-throw line in the last three minutes.
Etta Sorenson scored 11 points to lead Clintonville (2-12, 1-9 Eastern Valley).
Shannon McNeil led Ripon (7-7, 5-5 Eastern Valley) with 33 points.
