Gary ‘Tom’ Van Caster

Gary “Tom” Thomas Van Caster, 83, Oconto Falls, died of old age Tuesday morning, July 22, 2025. With the help of his daughter, Tiffney, he was able to be right where he wanted to be during the end of life process, in his recliner, at home. He was born Jan. 30, 1942, in Green Bay to Harry and Eleanor (Ruby) Van Caster. He grew up in the area and graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1960. He was drafted into the U.S.
Daniel J. Hable
Daniel J. Hable, 65, of Antigo, passed away peacefully at his home July 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Nov. 20, 1959, at Langlade Memorial Hospital in Antigo, Dan was the son of Frank and Joan (De Broux) Hable. Dan lived life fully and with joy. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and spending time in nature.
Rita H. Trinko
Rita H. Trinko, “The Red Hat Lady Who Walked,” 82, of Shawano, took her final walk on Tuesday afternoon, July 22, 2025. Because of hospice and her daughter-in-law, Mary, Rita was able to return home and die with dignity. That was her final wish that she shared with her son, Mark. Rita was born in Wausau on May 17, 1943, a daughter of the late Victor and Violet (Paiser) Reinke.

Susan Ann Boerst, 84, of Bonduel, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour.
Kathleen Bergmann
Kathleen Bergmann, 90, of Shawano, passed away peacefully at Birch Hill Care Center on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Kathy was born on Jan. 26, 1935, in Kenosha to Frank and Ottilie (Kessler) Urick. Kathy was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha and completed nursing school at Madison General Hospital School of Nursing in Madison, where she met and married her future husband, Dr. Franklyn T. (Tom) Bergmann.
Carol Burns
Carol Burns, 91, Oconto Falls, died Wednesday morning, July 23, 2025, at The Cottages. She was born April 28, 1934, in Berlin to Clifford and Anna (Weiland) Young. Carol graduated Berlin High School and received her Bachelor of Science from University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Leonard M. Wendler
Leonard M. Wendler, 82, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, July 24, 2025. He was born Dec. 24, 1942, in Wittenberg, son of the late Milton and Esther (Schwartzkopf) Wendler. Leonard attended Bowler High School. He married Jean Sartorius on July 27, 1963.
