Moesch, 42, Cecil, pleaded no contest Dec. 18 to physical abuse of an elder person, operating a motor vehicle with a prohibited alcohol content (fifth or sixth offense), three counts of felony bail jumping, three counts of misdemeanor bail jumping and a misdemeanor charge of violating an ignition interlock device order.

• Ronnie R. Collins, 53, Oconto Falls, pleaded no contest March 23 to two counts of felony bail jumping, three counts of misdemeanor bail jumping and misdemeanor charges of operating a firearm while intoxicated, disorderly conduct. Judge Michael Judge imposed and stayed a prison sentence, then placed him on two years of probation with conditions.

At the end of December, I wrote a column about how we sportsmen should consider passing on our hunting, fishing and trapping heritage to the next generation.

Wisconsin has about 100,000 fewer deer hunters today than it had in 2000, during the peak of the state’s harvest. Young people are busy with school sports, video games, social media and dating, and they are just not taking up hunting or fishing like they once did.

The Chargers opened play with a 12-2 win over Waupaca on March 27.

On March 28, Wittenberg-Birnamwood defeated East Dubuque 19-0.

The Chargers opened the game with six runs in the first inning and then added 13 more in the second, third and fourth innings to earn the 19-0 shutout in four innings over East Dubuque.
