The Shawano Community High School boys soccer team stayed undefeated in the Bay Conference on Thursday, knocking off Austin Mahlik and visiting Marinette 2-0. The Hawks held Mahlik, the Marines’ leading scorer and one of the best in the state, without a goal. “That was our goal today, try to shut him down and try to get a goal ourselves,” Shawano coach Bob Croschere said.

Plans to use $500,000 of county sales tax money for capital projects are likely dead. The Shawano County Finance Committee decided earlier this week not to take action on a request by the Administrative Committee to revise the ordinance on the county sales tax to reduce or eliminate the amount of money placed in reserve for capital projects.
